Admission Requirements


Vanderbilt University seeks individuals who have high standards of personal ethics and have demonstrated excellence in their professional lives and academic studies.
Admission Criteria
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with minimum 3.0 grade point average from a nursing program that holds national nursing accreditation and the school holds regional accreditation
- An active license as a registered nurse in state of practice that is unencumbered
- A minimum of one year practice as a registered nurse
- Proof of English language proficiency (if English was not the language of degree study)
- Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) within the last five years, with a minimum verbal and quantitative score at the 50th percentile and 4.5 out of 6 in analytical writing
Applicants not meeting these criteria will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Application Process
Call an Enrollment Counselor to begin the application process and submit:
- Personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation (one must be from a supervisor)
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
- RN License
- Resume
- Application form and fee ($50)
- Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
